🔗 Share this article The second-hand marketplace Users Express Displeasure Regarding Sizing Updates Members of the platform have expressed outrage due to a modification that led to listings displaying inaccurate size information. The popular resale platform has updated its size classifications for women's and children's clothes but did not contact all shoppers about the modification. Online Platforms Response Many shoppers and sellers are posting online saying Vinted listings now show a modified sizing category versus the original listing because of the remapping. Vinted explained the new system was more in line with other platforms. It has advised users to examine their items and adjust the sizing manually if necessary, which has left users frustrated. Sizing System Updates Before the change, the sizes had both one number and one letter, for instance S/8 or M/10. The revised method features a letter and a range such as S/UK 8-10. In some cases, the sizing has been recategorised - like an L measurement was previously a 12 but now shows as UK 16-18. User Stories Frankie Bridger, who produces content about larger sizing, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder". "Not many brands say XL is a 20-22," the way the service now categorizes. Stephanie Gallen, from Glasgow, stated items she posted featuring size 14 markings were showing in the marketplace as size 20–22. "If anyone [who is] size 20-22 buys them they will likely be quite upset," she said. Manual Updates Charlotte Lunn, based in Derby, stated she felt frustrated because the modification necessitated personal updates the sizing for "all her products". "This situation is especially annoying, because of my ongoing medical condition and platform income has been essential for me since losing part of my income," she stated. Service Background The platform boasts over 100 million members, comprising 18 million UK members. It has emerged as a preferred choice compared to resale services such as eBay and Depop. This represents another occasion that an unexpected update to the app has proved unpopular: previously, the platform withdrew an update to its shipping options after backlash from users.
