Battlefield 6 Gamers Agree: Tasks Are Excessively Difficult

The launch of the eagerly awaited Battlefield 6 garnered significant enthusiasm, especially for its flagship multiplayer mode. Just on Steam, live player figures peaked at nearly 750,000. Nevertheless, despite its popularity, many players are protesting against several of the title's most difficult challenges, which are necessary to unlock specific weapons.

Players have started turning to personalized games made via the custom game tool to finish these tasks, highlighting just how demanding these assignments have become.

Understanding BF6 Tasks

Tasks represent Battlefield 6's ongoing multiplayer objectives, as opposed to the periodically changed daily and weekly challenges. It features four classes of assignments, but while the majority merely grant cosmetics and some tools, finishing the gun missions is the sole method of obtaining a dozen out of forty-one primary weapons found within the game.

Some of these gated guns might eventually find their way on rankings for the top weapons in Battlefield 6.

Gamer Backlash via Reddit

Over on Reddit, players are reasonably voicing their concerns about how hard and tedious some of these challenges are. An individual player highlighted one of the most extreme examples, needed to obtain the KTS100 MK8 LMG:

  • Suppress 300 enemies with LMGs
  • Deal 10,000 close-range damage with LMGs

"This task is so awful and entirely ill-conceived, I want to tear my hair out," is a comment that illustrates just how excessively challenging these tasks are.

The suppression feature in the game is less effective than in previous titles in the series, so it has significantly fewer benefits in combat as it used to in previous games. It only tallies as suppression if you fail to hit several consecutive shots.

Additionally, hipfiring an LMG is wildly inaccurate and functions solely at point-blank proximity, which is not usually a position you want to be. The same user also highlighted the irony in the SMG challenge, to unlock the SCW-10, which demands eliminations when scoped in, when that challenge would be much better suited to hipfire kills, and conversely.

Another Extremely Difficult Challenge

A different forum member highlighted an additional excessively hard challenge, within the marksman rifle class to unlock the PSR:

  • Achieve 150 headshot eliminations beyond 200 meters with marksman guns

This is tough enough as it is, but there's one more key thing to consider: the majority of Battlefield 6 maps fail to facilitate combat at such a long range.

There is a decent selection of map sizes, but given there are merely nine levels in the game currently, it restricts you to playing a specific urban map, another expansive area, and perhaps a classic map if you're lucky if you want to snipe from a significant distance.

The Bypass

However, there is a solution: Battlefield Portal. This portal feature is a tool that allows you to design tailored experiences on the battleground of your choice, including AI opponents. This implies you can cheese the system… but it doesn't exactly feel like the developer's vision.

However, when doing the challenges in a normal session appears to work against fun, since you are forced to participate in such an unorthodox manner that doesn't benefit you or your team, is it surprising for grinding them out in a custom game so squad members are not disadvantaged?

Upcoming Tweaks

It is expected if some of these assignments are adjusted to be less difficult in the near future, because if they're not, certain gamers simply will never acquire the gated weapons.

At the moment, the community continues to voice their opinions on these demanding battlefield assignments, expecting a more balanced gaming experience in future updates.
